Catalyst Kids Volunteer Coordinator

Primary Purpose //

The Catalyst Kids Volunteer Coordinator Jacksonville Campus shall serve and fulfill the responsibilities listed below in the spirit of the Vision and Mission of Catalyst Church: “To glorify God by loving all people into a growing relationship with Jesus Christ”. (Matthew 22:36-40; Matthew 28:19-20)

 

Essential Duties and Core Responsibilities

The Catalyst Kids Volunteer Coordinator Jacksonville Campus responsibilities are to work in conjunction with Catalyst Church as a whole. The Catalyst Kids Volunteer Coordinator Jacksonville Campus reports and answers directly to the Childrens Minister. The Catalyst Kids Volunteer Coordinator Jacksonville Campus is effectively working to champion and implement the Vision and Mission of the Children’s Ministry, and overall functions of Catalyst Church.

 

Jacksonville Campus Volunteer Coordinating and Scheduling

  • Recruit and onboard new volunteers for the children’s ministry – including proper interviewing, background checks, and successful training and support for the role being filled.
  • Ensure that all Jacksonville Campus volunteers are confirmed or declined in Planning Center.
  • Contact Jacksonville Campus volunteers as needed to ensure they have confirmed or declined in Planning Center
  • Ensure that all Jacksonville Campus Guest Services, Large Group, Small Group positions are adequately covered for each of the weekend services
  • Setup Planning Center for each month’s volunteer schedule for Jacksonville Campus
  • Keep Children’s Director and Catalyst Kids Coordinator – Jacksonville Campus Specialist informed of volunteer vacancies not able to fill by the weekend so decision on coverage changes can be made.
  • Assist during Jacksonville Campus Catalyst Kids weekend services environments to assess needs and help fill volunteer vacancies as needed.

 

Jacksonville Campus Weekend Environment Responsibilities

  • Provide accurate room counts for all Preschool and Elementary volunteer leaders and children.
  • Various duties as assigned by Children’s Director and Catalyst Kids Coordinator – Jacksonville Campus Specialist.

 

Cirriculum

  • Assist Catalyst Kids Coordinators with editing and review of curriculum as requested and necessary.

 

Social Media

  • Responsible for overseeing social media content for Catalyst Kids involving creation, review and posting as determined by Children’s Director.

 

General

  • Jacksonville Campus Catalyst Kids environments room setup and tear down.
  • Jacksonville Campus weekend services Catalyst Kids environments confirmation of adequate volunteer coverage, addressing any needs / issues that arise, and general monitoring of Catalyst Kids environments.
  • Present in Jacksonville Campus Catalyst Kids environments at all Thursday evening and Sunday Services (excluding the one in which you choose to attend).
  • Attend all Catalyst Kids Meetings
  • Assume responsibilities for any additional Catalyst Kids Events or Projects as assigned by the Children’s Director.

 

Minimum Qualifications and Experience

  • A follower of Jesus Christ and an active member of a biblically based church congregation or have a willingness to become a member of Catalyst Church.
  • Possess the ability to demonstrate a commitment to the overall Vision and Mission of Catalyst Church and exhibit a heart that “Loves God, Loves Each Other, and Loves Our World”. 
  • Possess the ability to demonstrate a commitment to the overall Vision and Mission of the Catalyst Church Children’s Ministry.
  • Embodies a high level of spiritual maturity.
  • Embodies a high level of integrity, humility, and sacrifice.
  • Embodies a high level of organization, administration, and focus.  
  • Have a commitment to love the next generation and their families.
  • Have a commitment to care for people honestly and authentically.
  • Have a commitment to spending consistent and intentional time mentoring and investing in the lives of children and parents through discipleship. 
  • Possess a strong ability to remain focused on vision and direction.

  • Experience is preferred in working with and managing volunteers as well as a large and diverse team.

Attendance

  • Attend scheduled events, services, and activities as necessary unless approved by Catayst Church Children’s Director.
  • Maintain regular office hours within the requirements established by the Children’s Director.
  • Availability to attend meetings, when necessary, outside of normal office hours.
  • Attend and maintain a personal worship experience.
  • Attend required trainings for the Children’s Ministry team during and outside of normal business hours, unless directed by the Children’s Director.
